Okay, so I remember the first time I saw them: April 19th, 2007. This is after loving the damn band for like, what, 7 years? Finally I can see them live. It was powerful as hell. And they had the whole meet&greet thing after the show. One of the security guards that was standing in front of me during the show was also handling the meet&greet table, so when it was my turn he gave me a hug and told LJ "This is a real fan". I think I nearly died.
Oh and that's when I found out there IS a Southern accent I can listen to all day long and not get tired of it: Vinnie's! He sounds so warm and friendly. Like he's about to ask you in for some lemonade and biscuits. Okay, now I'm being silly
So what was YOUR first 7D concert like?

Actually, the first time I knew of Sevendust was shortly after 9/11. i saw angels son video and immediately fell in love with LJ. Not only was he FINE as hell, his voice just grabbed me. If like it were to say, "get over here girl". I was BLOWN AWAY...I could just feel his mellow energy through the TV.
I immediately got their album and retrospect. I saw them perform live on conan obrien. they performed praise. LJ was insane. It was the first time Ive seen the band live. The first thing i remember is Morgans braids flopping around as he played the into to Praise. After that there was a freakin' explosion. I was floored..Every inch of LJ's being spoke to me. He moved to the music and sang as if he was somehow connected to an amp. I was hooked ever since.
when they came to my town, the show was sold out. i took my retrospect dvd to the radio show that was sponsoring them and waited for them. LJ immediately asked for a hug and signed my dvd, along with Morgan who also gave me a big hug. They both treated me like family. LJ got me into the show for free. I consider them to be "friends", even though they are really acquentances. They treat me better than some of my own family members.

"Get over here girl"
That's what he says when I make up situations in my head. *wink* ANYWAY!
I agree, I consider them to be friends to me even though I don't know them THAT way. It's the way they treat us. Y'know, every show isn't a show, it's a family reunion and all that. You can tell they really see it that way.
